Hempstead, NY - The Wagner College men's lacrosse team dropped its season opener at Hofstra, 21-9 on Saturday afternoon.
Wagner took the lead 31 seconds into the contest as junior Conor Julich got on the board. After Hofstra tied it, Wagner regained the lead on a man-up goal from junior Carson Skinner.
Following the Carson Skinner goal, Hofstra closed the first quarter on an 8-0 run to take a 9-2 lead heading into the second quarter.
Wagner tallied three goals in the second quarter as senior Nick Martini tallied two goals while Carson Skinner netted his second of the game.
Martini's second goal of the quarter took place with one second remaining in the first half. Hofstra took a 15-5 lead into halftime.
Conor Julich netted his second goal of the game in the third quarter, Julich's goal was the lone goal for Wagner in the third. The Pride took a 17-6 lead into the fourth quarter.
Wagner tallied three goals in the fourth quarter, Nick Martini tallied his third goal of the contest for the Seahawks.
Wagner will be back in action on Saturday, February 17 when they welcome Le Moyne to Hameline Field at 12:00 pm.
