Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College women's basketball team dropped its sixth consecutive contest with a 55-46 loss at home to Le Moyne on Thursday night.
In a back-and-forth first quarter, the teams traded baskets as the Seahawks shot 42.9 percent from the field. The game entered the second quarter tied at 15.
Wagner outscored Le Moyne 17-14 in the second quarter behind nine points from graduate student Taleah Washington, Washington shot 3-3 from three-point range. The District Heights, MD native launched a three-pointer to give Wagner a 32-29 lead with five seconds left in the second quarter.
Trailing 32-29 entering the third quarter, Le Moyne launched a 16-0 run through the quarter, the Seahawks shot 0-16 from the floor in the frame.
Wagner mustered 14 points in the fourth quarter but it wasn't enough as Le Moyne earned the victory.
Taleah Washington scored a team-high 15 points on 5-11 shooting from three-point range. Freshman Kiera Edmonds grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds.
