Kiera Edmonds' layup tied the game with 28 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to force overtime, but it wasn't enough as Wagner fell to LIU 70-65 in overtime.
The Sharks led 40-24 entering the second half, Wagner outscored LIU 17-7 in the third quarter which brought the Seahawks to within six entering the fourth quarter.
Down 59-52 with 2:34 remaining in the fourth quarter, Semi Brar buried a three-pointer to cut the deficit to four. After the Brar three-pointer, the Seahawks caused a turnover on the defensive end of the floor before freshman Drew Jordon made a jump shot to cut the LIU lead to 59-57 with 1:15 remaining in the fourth. After causing another turnover, Edmonds tied the game at 59 to force overtime.
LIU outscored 11-6 in overtime to earn the victory.
KIera Edmonds recorded her second consecutive double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, Drew Jordon netted a career-high 17 points on 9-7 shooting from the floor.
The loss moves Wagner to 6-19 overall and 3-10 in conference play with three regular season games remaining.
Wagner will be back in action on Thursday, February 29 when they welcome Le Moyne to the Spiro Sports Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm on ESPN+.
