Staten Island, NY - The Wagner baseball team suffered a 7-3 loss in game two of its three-game series against Stonehill on Saturday.
A ninth-inning rally by the Skyhawks ended Wagner's two-game win streak.
Saturday's game was a pitcher's duel until the seventh inning. Sophomore Frankie Wright battled against Matt Tyman, with Wright coughing up the lone run across the opening six frames.
Wright pitched five innings and allowed just five hits while striking out five.Â
Tyman was finally dealt some damage when senior Maimu Kobayashi hit a bases-clearing double in the seventh inning to give the Seahawks the lead.
Stonehill didn't trail for long, however, as it tied the game in the next half inning.
From there, Wagner allowed four runs to cross home plate in the ninth inning to seal the loss.
Junior Chris Conniff's 43-game on-base streak was snapped in the loss as the Green & White mustered just four hits on the day.
Wagner will look to rebound in the series finale on Sunday at noon.
