Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College softball team earned a thrilling 1-0 win in extra innings over LIU on Saturday.
Both teams were unable to get a run across the plate in regulation, setting up an exciting finish. After graduate student
Eve Harvey kept the Sharks off the board in the top half of the inning, graduate student
Penelope Russ led off the bottom half of the eighth with a pinch-hit single.

Samantha Tran worked a walk, and following a sacrifice bunt by graduate student
Nora Conway, senior
Bianca Worthy came through with a walk-off single to give the Seahawks the win.
Harvey earned the victory in the circle, pitching eight shutout innings while striking out five Sharks in the process.
Wagner had a 6-4 advantage in hits, as Worthy led the way with two hits in the contest.
The Seahawks will travel to Iona on Tuesday for a non-conference doubleheader, starting at 12 PM.
