Buffalo, NY – The Wagner College men's lacrosse team earned its second Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) win of the season with a 10-8 win at Canisius on Saturday afternoon.
After Canisius jumped out to a 2-0 lead, Wagner responded with goals from sophomore
Conor Julich and senior
Eli Fisher. With the game tied at two, Canisius outscored Wagner 2-1 for the remainder of the first frame to take a 4-3 lead into the second quarter.
Each team tallied two goals each in the second as graduate student
Jack Brady and senior
Benjamin Stewart tallied the goals for Wagner as Canisius took a 6-5 lead into halftime.
Benjamin Stewart tallied two goals in the third quarter for the Green & White as Canisius took a 8-7 lead into the final 15 minutes.
Wagner put a stamp on the contest in the final quarter as they outscored Canisius 3-0 behind goals from
Conor Julich, sophomore
Patrick Caldwell and senior
Jack Brady.
Benjamin Stewart and
Jack Brady combined for six goals on 24 shots as senior goalkeeper
Danny Brady stopped 10 saves.
Wagner will wrap up the regular season next Saturday when they welcome Manhattan to Hameline Field at 6:00 pm.
