Staten Island, NY - The Wagner men's and women's track and field teams hosted the annual Wagner College Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Upperclassmen on both the men's and women's teams filled the leaderboard in multiple events.
On the men's side junior Jason Marchese placed sixth in the 60m dash with a time of 7.05 as he also placed first in the 200m dash with a time of 22.0.
In the 800m run juniors Michael Hubert and Muhammad Qadri placed second and third, respectively. Hubert clocked in at 1:54.21 while Qadri finished in 1:54.25.
Junior Dominic Palermo placed third in the one mile run finishing in 4:21.3 just eight seconds behind the winner of the event..
In throws, senior Corey Durden placed third in the shot put reaching a distance of 15.11m while also claiming second place in the weight throw with a distance of 17.72.
Freshman Julio Martinez tied for third place in the pole vault with a height of 4.55m.
On the women's side, junior Melissa Waters placed seventh in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.57. Senior
Sara Rutherford placed 5th in the 200m dash with a time of 26.08 while also rounding out the top ten in the 400m dash with a time of 59.47.
In the 4x400m relay Gabriella Menendez, Sofia Garcia, Angelina Olah and Giavanna Comerford placed 5th with a time of 4:17.37.
Senior Bridget Damon placed 5th in the weight throw with a distance of 14.29m.
In jumps, freshman Saranda Capani came in third place in pole vault reaching 2.95m.
The Seahawks will be back in action January 14 at the Penn 10-Select Meet at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
