Staten Island, NY - The Wagner women's basketball will close out the home portion of the 2022 regular season Saturday, as they welcome the Bryant University Bulldogs to the Spiro Sports Center on Senior Day. 


OPENING TIP...
  • The Seahawks knocked off first-place FDU, 63-59, on Thursday evening, as four scored in double-figures, led by Katrice Jackson, who matched her career-high with 14 points. 
  • Bryant enters the contest looking to halt a three-game losing streak after dropping a 70-66 home decision to St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday evening.

SERIES BREAKDOWN AGAINST BRYANT... 
  • Saturday's contest marks the 24th all-time meeting between the two programs with Bryant holding an 18-5 edge in the series. 
  • Wagner picked up a 68-52 road victory back on January 6 as four Seahawks, led by Kem Nwabudu, scored in double-figures.
  • Nwabudu finished with a team-leading 15 points and finished one rebound shy of a double-double, collecting nine rebounds. 
  • Wagner is 4-6 over their last ten matchups with Bryant, but, over their last five games, the Seahawks are 3-2. 
     

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS...
  • Bryant enters play looking to snap a three-game losing streak after falling at home to St. Francis Brooklyn, 70-66. 
  • Four Bulldogs scored in double-figures against the Terriers, led by 17 points apiece from Brooke Bjelko and Alana Perkins. Mariona Planes Fortuny and Fatou Jallow each had 10 points. 
  • Bryant paces the league in three-point shooting, hitting at a 36.2 percent clip. 
  • Bjelko paces the team in scoring (13.4 ppg), rebounds (7.3 rpg), and blocks (1.3 bpg).
  • Jallow is the team's leader in assists (3.2 apg) and steals (1.4). 


FIRST-YEAR SUCCESS...
  • Through Feb. 23, of the 26 first-year head coaches this season in the NCAA, Wagner's first-year bench boss, Terrell Coburn, is sixth with a .583 win percentage and tied for the sixth-most wins with 14.

  • In Wagner's 15 wins this season, the Seahawks are outscoring their opponents by nearly 11.0 points a contest (63.8 to 53.0). 
  • The team is shooting 43.5 percent from the field while hitting on 37.1 percent from beyond-the-arc.

MILESTONE WATCH... 
  • EKG moved to 13th on the all-time Wagner scoring list, as she now stands with 1,252 career points. Next up on the list is recent Wagner Hall of Famer, Carrie Walker, who finished her Seahawk career with 1,288 career points. 
  • The senior forward is rapidly approaching ethcing her name on the all-time career field goals made list, as she currently stands at 525. 
  • Currently, Cynthia Quinlan (1986-1990) occupies the eighth spot on that list with 534 career made field goals. In terms of career attempts, EKG has recorded 1,167 attempts and needs just 114 more attempts to crack the top-ten. 
  • Nwabudu is rapidly approcahing the 1,000 career point plateau, as the Elmont, NY native has amassed 952 career points between her time at Winthrop and Wagner. As a member of the Seahawk, she has netted 384 career points. 
  • Both Nwabudu and Krista Grava have reached the 500+ career rebound plateau in the careers. Nwabudu has snagged 215 during her time at Wagner and 544 overall while EKG has corralled 538 over her four-years on Staten Island. 
  • The all-time mark belongs to Mary Gormley (1977-1981), who finished her career with 1,297. Carrie Walker (2000-2004) currently sits in ninth place on the list with 813 career boards.
