Brooklyn, NY – The Wagner women's fencing team completed its second meet of the season at LIU on Sunday.
The Seahawks posted a 3-2 overall record on the day.
In a 17-10 loss against NJIT, the Wagner foil squad earned a 5-4 victory while the épée and sabre fell to NJIT's. Senior
Ava De La Cruz went 3-0 in the foil competition against NJIT.
Wagner earned a 15-12 victory over Wellesley as the Seahawks earned 6-3 victories in the épée and sabre competitions. Wagner fell in the foil competition as sophomore
Katerina Cervenkova went 3-0 in the épée competition while freshman
Fanny Straub went 3-0 in the sabre competition.
Against the hosts LIU, the Green & White fell 16-11. Despite falling in the foil and sabre competitions, Wagner earned a 6-3 victory in the épée competition behind freshman
Sofia Lopez Meneses who went 3-0.
Against Drew, Wagner claimed a decisive 18-9 victory behind a 9-0 victory in the foil competition and a 6-3 victory in the sabre bout, Wagner fell in the épée bout.

Alex Cole combined all went 3-0 to preserve the foil victory for Wagner.
Wagner also earned a 16-11 victory over the Stevens Institute of Technology as they earned victories in all three bouts.
Katerina Cervenkova went 3-0 in the épée competition while sophomore
Simona Nedyalkova went 3-0 in the sabre competition.
"I'm incredibly proud of how well our team performed today," head coach David Sierra said. "I'm even more proud of the team spirit and the support they gave each other. Our wins were truly team victories where everyone contributed."
Ava De La Cruz and
Simona Nedyalkova each stood out for Wagner with a 12-3 record on the day.
The Seahawks will continue its fall season on Sunday, October 30 at the Drew Invitational.
