Smithfield, RI  -  The Wagner College women's basketball team opens 2022 with four straight road contests, beginning on Thursday as the Seahawks head to Smithfield, RI to square off against the Bryant University Bulldogs. Wagner opened up Northeast Conference (NEC) play with a 65-56 home triumph over Saint Francis U back on December 29.

The Green & White's next contest, against Mount St. Mary's, scheduled for New Year's Eve, was canceled as the Mountaineers were unable to compete due to CoVID protocols, necessitating a cancellation and awarding the victory to Wagner per the NEC Cancellation and Forfeit Policy.

Bryant split their first two league games, earning a 60-53 home triumph over Central Connecticut on Dec. 29 before falling on the road on NYE to Sacred Heart, 80-61.
