Loretto, PA -  The Wagner women's basketball team will head out to Western Pennsylvania on Thursday evening, as the Seahawks will take on Saint Francis U Red Flash at DeGol Arena.
WAGNER ATHLETICS SPECTATOR POLICY...
  • In accordance with New York State and New York City guidelines the Wagner College Athletic Department has announced the following spectator policy for all indoor athletic competitions:
  • All guests will be required to wear masks
  • All guests over 11 years old must show proof of vaccination 
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by a vaccinated adult
  • Physical tickets must be picked up on game day (can still be purchased and reserved in advance)
  • We ask that those who plan on attending the game pre-register tickets by calling the ticket office at 718-420-4039 or emailing erin.depaul@wagner.edu

OPENING TIP...
  • The Seahawks look for the season sweep of the Red Flash, having defeated SFU, 65-56, in the Northeast Conference (NEC) opener on December 29 at the Spiro Sports Center. 
    • Three Wagner players finished in double-figures, led by Alex Cowan, who poured in a team-high 17 points in 31 minutes of action. Emilija Krista Grava and Zhaneia Thybulle each finished in double-figures, scoring 16 and 15 points, respectively. 
  • Wagner (10-7; 4-4 NEC) will look to snap a four-game losing streak after falling to the Merrimack College Warriors, 68-57, at home on Sunday afternoon. 
  • Saint Francis U (5-14; 5-3 NEC) enter play riding a five-game winning streak, as the Red Flash held off Sacred Heart, 69-66, in overtime on Sunday afternoon. 
  • Jada Daapa finished with a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing a career-best 23 rebounds in the victory. 


SERIES BREAKDOWN AGAINST SAINT FRANCIS U... 
  • Thursday's contest is the 74th meeting between the two schools with SFU holding a 48-25
    edge in the head-to-head series. 
  • The Seahawks are riding a three game win streak against the Red Flash.
  • On the other-hand, the Green & White will look to halt a three-game losing streak in Loretto, PA,
    having last earning a win at DeGol Arena back on February 13, 2017, a 87-71 triumph.


SCOUTING THE RED FLASH...
  • The Red Flash enter play with an overall record of 5-14 and 5-3 in league play. 
  • Collectively, SFU is only averaging 52.7 points per game on 37.4 shooting and 29.9 percent
    marksmanship from the outside.
  • The Red Flash are tied with Bryant for second in the NEC in rebounding margin at +3.4, with Dapaa leading the charge, as she is averaging 11.3 rebounds per contest.
