Staten Island, NY – The stage is set for the four-team 2021 Northeast Conference (NEC) Women's Lacrosse Tournament, beginning with both semifinals on Wednesday, May 5, and concluding with the championship game on Saturday, May 8.

Wagner, the #2 seed and two-time defending conference champion will host the #3 seed Long Island University (LIU) at 3:00 p.m. from Hameline Field. Mount St. Mary's, the #1 seed, will host Bryant, the #4 seed, in the early game at 1:00 p.m. from Waldron Family Stadium.

Each of the top two seeds swept the season series against their semifinal opponents. Wagner beat LIU 14-3 on March 10 and 13-9 on April 21, while Mount St. Mary's beat Bryant 20-11 on March 27 and 17-11 on April 14.

Wagner finished the regular season leading the conference in ground balls per game and caused turnovers per game. They were also second in goals per game, draw controls per game, and goals against average.

Individually, junior Kasey Dorney led the conference in ground balls per game, draw controls per game, and caused turnovers per game, while senior Erin Kerstetter led the conference in points per game, averaging more than one point per game more than any other player in the league.

Overall, Wagner placed three players among the Top 10 in goals per game and caused turnovers per game, as well as four players among the Top 10 in ground balls per game.

Historically, Bryant and Wagner have each made every NEC Tournament since 2014; in fact, the two schools met in the championship game every year from 2014 to 2018. Mount St. Mary's has made each of the last three conference tournaments, falling to the Seahawks in the 2019 Championship Game. LIU is making its first conference tournament appearance since the merging of the LIU Post and LIU Brooklyn athletic programs prior to the 2019-2020 academic year.

Wednesday's winners will meet in the 2021 NEC Championship Game on Saturday, May 8 at the home of the highest remaining seed. Start time of the championship game is still to be determined.
