Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College women's fencing team's 2022 spring schedule is set, head coach Gabrielle Chau has announced, highlighted by the Brian Palestis Memorial Invitational at the Spiro Sports Center on February 27.
"I'm excited to return to competition this spring," said Chau. "We have some big events planned, as well as hosting our home meet. After that, there's the big push to regionals and potentially competition at NCAA's."
Wagner opens the spring season on Saturday, January 22 and January 23 at the UPenn Invitational in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Green & White continues competition at the Notre Dame DeCicco Duals on January 29 in South Bend, Indiana.
After a week off from competition, the Seahawks will travel to Teaneck, New Jersey for the Fairleigh Dickinson Invitational on Sunday, February 13. Wagner will wrap up the regular season on February 27 at home for the Brian Palestis Memorial Invitational. The meet honors former volunteer assistant coach and longtime professor Brian Palestis, who died in January 2020 after battling a long illness.
Following the completion of the regular season, the Seahawks will compete at the NCAA Regionals on March 12 before heading to the NCAA Championships from March 24 to March 27.
