Staten Island, NY -  The Wagner College women's basketball team will look for its fourth straight win on Wednesday evening as the Seahawks host the Manhattan College Jaspers. 
 
WAGNER ATHLETICS SPECTATOR POLICY...
  • In accordance with New York State and New York City guidelines the Wagner College Athletic Department has announced the following spectator policy for all indoor athletic competitions:
  • All guests will be required to wear masks
  • All guests over 11 years old must show proof of vaccination 
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by a vaccinated adult
  • Physical tickets must be picked up on game day (can still be purchased and reserved in advance)

SERIES BREAKDOWN AGAINST MANHATTAN...
  • Wednesday's contest marks the 17th all-time meeting between the two New York City based schools with the Jaspers holding a 9-7 edge in the head-to-head series.
  • These two teams last met back on November 22, 2005 in Riverdale, NY as the Seahawks dropped a 65-56 decision.

  • Senior forward Emilija Krista Grava became the 25th member of the 1,000 point club.
  • Krista Grava, who recorded the milestone feat with 59.2 seconds showing on the clock in the second quarter, finished the game against New Hampshire with 11 points while also grabbing five rebounds.

DEFENSIVE LOCKDOWN...
  • Through their first five games, Wagner's defense has been on full display and ranks among the top in the Northeast Conference (NEC) and the nation.
  • The Seahawks rank 12th in the country in three-point field percentage, holding opponents to just 19.8 percent shooting from three-point range. 
  • Wagner is also 44th in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 54.6 points per game. 
  • Additionally, the Green & White have forced 22.0 turnovers a game, good for 31st nationally. 
FROM A-TO-Z... 
  • Senior point guard Zhaneia Thybulle is rapidly etching her name among the league's best and also nationally. 
  • The Elmont, NY native ranks sixth in the nation in assists per game at 6.6. 
  • Her 33 total assists are a NEC-leading while placing her among the top-40 in the nation (33rd overall). 
STARTING FIVE...
  • Head coach Terrell Coburn has used the same starting five of Alex Cowan-Zhaneia Thybulle-Drayah Heyward-Emilija Krista Grava-Kem Nwabudu in all five games, going 4-1 during this span. 
  • The Seahawks have averaged 48.2 points per game while shooting 42.1 percent from the field and holding opponents to just 37.0 points per game over the first five contests. 
  • The Wagner quintet has limited opponents to just 13.7 percent shooting from three-point range.
  • On the defensive end, Wagner's starting five has averaged 7.0 steals a contest while forcing 12.2 turnovers.

  • In Wagner's four wins this season, the Seahawks are averaging 65.0 points per game while converting on 42.7 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from the outside.
  • The Seahawks are limiting their opponents to just 51.8 points per game and 19.4 percent from three-point range.
  • Krista Grava and Kem Nwabudu are scoring in double-figures, as Krista Grava has poured in nearly 16.0 points per game in Wagner's four wins while Nwabudu has chipped in 12.8 points per game. 
  • Thybulle has ignited the offense, adding in 9.0 points per game and 7.3 assists in the Seahawks' four victories. 
SCOUTING MANHATTAN... 
  • The Jaspers enter play on Wednesday with a 4-2 overall record. Manhattan is looking for their third straight win after defeating fellow Northeast Conference (NEC) member, Fairleigh Dickinson, 69-55, on November 28 in Riverdale.
  • Three Jaspers are averaging double-figures, led by Dee Dee Davis, who is pouring in 14.5 ppg. Courtney Warley is averaging a double-double, scoring 12.7 ppg and pulling down 12.5 rpg. Brazil Harvey-Carr is next at 10.3 ppg. 
  • As a whole, Manhattan is averaging 65.2 points per game while shooting 41.8 percent from the field. The Jaspers are out-rebounding their opponents by nine caroms a contest (41.7 - 32.5). 

NEXT UP FOR WAGNER... 
  • The Seahawks will remain home as they welcome Rider University to the Spiro Sports Center on Tuesday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. 
  • The Wagner-IONA matchup, originally scheduled for Saturday, December 4, has been postponed as Iona has halted team activities following multiple positive COVID-19 results among its Tier I individuals.
  • Mutually agreed upon makeup dates between the schools are currently being worked out.
