Men's Lacrosse Announces 2022 Schedule

2022 Schedule

Staten Island, NY- Wagner's fourth-year men's lacrosse head coach Bill McCutcheon has announced the team's 2022 schedule, a 12-game slate that features five non-conference matchups and seven Northeast Conference (NEC) contests.

"We are thrilled to get back to our non-conference competition in spring 22," said McCutcheon. "Last year we did not have an opportunity to play those games, so to have some of our regional and local rivalries built back into the schedule is awesome and I know the guys will be excited to compete. We don't have to go far to find very good out of conference competition and we will look forward to the 12-game regular season slate we have in store for this spring."

 

The Seahawks open the season on Saturday, February 19 when they travel to Connecticut to face Fairfield. The road trip continues when the Green & White heads to Riverdale, NY to take on Manhattan on February 26 and concludes on March 1 at Monmouth.  

Wagner's home opener is scheduled for Saturday, March 5, when NJIT comes to Grymes Hill. The Green & White remain home as they welcome Mercer on March 12, concluding the non-conference portion of their schedule. 

The Northeast Conference (NEC) opener for the Seahawks is scheduled for March 19 when Wagner travels to Brookville, NY to take on the LIU Sharks. The Seahawks close out the month when they host defending regular-season champions, Saint Joseph's, on March 26.

April commences with a home tilt against Sacred Heart (Apr. 2) before hitting the road on April 9 to take on Hobart.  The final homestand of the season is scheduled for April 16 and April 23, as Wagner hosts Mount St. Mary's and Merrimack, respectively. The 2022 regular season finale concludes on April 30 as the Seahawks will head to Smithfield, RI to take on defending league champions, Bryant. 

The NEC Tournament will be held on May 5 and May 7, featuring the top four teams that qualify at the higher seed's campus.
