Staten Island, NY - The Wagner men's lacrosse program led by fourth-year head coach
Bill McCutcheon welcomes 16 newcomers for the upcoming 2022 season.
"We are very happy and excited to welcome our second full recruiting class to campus this fall.," said McCutcheon. "The 14-man group hails from six different states and brings a wide variety of depth and talent to our team. We are looking forward to seeing their talents on display on the field here, helping them progress, and working with them to achieve their on and off-field goals as they settle in."
The class consists of 14 freshmen and 2 transfer students to add to a Green & White roster looking to take the next step.

Dan McCauley (Depauw) and
Danny Cassidy (Stony Brook). Both have fit in incredibly well here so far in their pursuit of graduate degrees and continuing their playing careers. We look forward to their veteran presence on the field this spring."
Transfers
Danny Cassidy – Defense – Wading River, NY
Stony Brook University
Started all 14 games, tallying 33 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers for the Seawolves during the 2021 campaign. Additionally, Cassidy was named a second-team All-America East Conference selection following a standout 2019 season. The New York native chose Wagner due to the nursing program and the opportunity to continue his lacrosse career.
Dan McCauley – Midfield – St. Louis, MO
DePauw University
Totaled 20 points, 23 ground balls, and 4 caused turnovers in a nine-game season his final year with DePauw. Comes from an athletic family, his brother Jacob is a member of Drake University's football team while his other brother Matt was a four varsity baseball student-athlete for Lewis University. He chose Wagner for the culture of the team and the school along with his relationship with the coaching staff.
Freshmen
Patrick Caldwell – Midfield – Bernardsville, NJ
Bernards High School
Caldwell was an All-State football and lacrosse standout for Bernards. He helped lead the lacrosse team to 17 wins his senior season while tallying 79 points. The 6'0" athletic midfielder chose Wagner due to its location and his relationship with the coaches.
Tommy Egan – Defense – Flemington, NJ
Hunterdon Central Regional High School
The stout defensemen earned first-team honors within the Skyland Conference, in addition to All-State recognition following his senior campaign. He was a three-year varsity athlete for the Red Devils. Egan landed at Wagner after building a connection to the coaches and the campus.
Dylan Festa – Defense – Newton, NJ
Kittatinny Regional High School
Festa was a four-year letter winner in lacrosse where he helped lead the Cougars to a school-record 14 wins in 2021. He was an NJAC honorable mention in addition to earning publicity as one of the top freshmen in the state during the 2018 season. Wagner landed the defensemen's commitment as it was a "perfect fit" in his own words due to proximity to home, professional opportunities, and is surrounded by great scenery.
Dylan Haase – Midfield – Williston Park, NY
Herricks High School
The 6'2" midfielder earned All-County honors during the 2019 & 2021 seasons, where he totaled 73 (46 goals, 27 assists) and 48 points (38 goals, 10 assists) respectively. Haase received the Herricks' Presidential Service Award, for completing over 100 hours of community service throughout the course of an academic year. He chose Wagner for the different programs offered and he believed it would lead him to achieve his goals.
Quin Hoke – Midfield – Bethlehem, PA
Freedom High School
Hoke was a standout in both football and lacrosse where he earned All-Eastern Pennsylvania nods in each sport. The national honors society member posted 42 goals to go along with 24 assists in his final season at Freedom. He chose Wagner because of the location and business opportunities.
Conor Julich – Midfield – Islip, NY
Islip High School
Aggressive decision-maker on the field who was a multisport athlete in high school. Julich played three years of varsity lacrosse and three years of varsity football for the Buccaneers. The high IQ midfielder chose Wagner because the coaching staff made him feel at home when he visited the campus.
Will McGrath – Defense – Silver Spring, MD
Northwood High School
McGrath earned 12 varsity letters for Northwood as he competed in basketball, golf, and lacrosse. The rangy defenseman was named team MVP for three consecutive seasons and forced 39 turnovers his senior year. He chose Wagner because of the sense of community and location.
Daniel Mercado – Faceoff/Midfield – Wading River, NY
Shoreham-Wading River High School
Mercado was named one of the top 50 lacrosse talents on Long Island entering his senior season. Won 68% of his faceoff attempts during the 2019 state championship season for Shoreham-Wading River. Daniel decided to attend Wagner in large part to play collegiate lacrosse with his brother Cristian.
Hudson Moss – Defense – Wheaton, IL
Wheaton High School
Moss was a two-time All-Conference selection during his high school career in addition to being a mainstay on the academic honor roll. The defensemen chose Wagner because of the coaching staff and the diversity of the campus.
Jake Nelson – Midfield – Hewitt, NJ
Bergen Catholic
Nelson served as a team captain for Bergen Catholic during his senior season where he tallied six goals and seven assists. He was named the Bergen Catholic Coaches Award winner following the 2021 season. The natural midfielder chose Wagner because of its location and proximity to home.
James Rea – Midfield – Brick, NJ
Brick Township, NJ
Lacrosse team MVP following a standout senior campaign. The agile midfielder was a multi-sport athlete in high school also competing in football and basketball. Rea chose Wagner because of the campus and his connection with the coaches.
Ethan Sieb – Attack – Frankfort, IL
Lincoln-Way East High School
Sieb was named SWSC Player of the Year after registering 63 goals and 23 assists in 2021. The speedy attackman notched 133 career goals across three seasons for Lincoln-Way East. He chose Wagner because it felt like home and will give him a different setting than what he is used to allowing him to branch out.
Carson Skinner – Attack – Spartanburg, SC
Dorman High School
Skinner was named a USA Lacrosse SC All-American and First Team All-State Attack following his 2021 season. The attacker is the Dorman Lacrosse Career Goals Leader (159 goals). He attended Wagner as it will give him great opportunities on the field and professionally.
Nathaniel Yi – Goalie – Collegeville, PA
The Shipley School / Academy of the New Church
Yi was named as the goalie for the First-Team All-Friends League. Posted an impressive 69% save rate during his senior season while earning the school's Coaches Award. He chose Wagner because he the coaching staff made him feel wecolme and at home.
