Women's Cross Country Finishes Seventh At Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship

New Britain, CT – The Wagner women's cross country team finished seventh at the 2021 Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT.
 
The host, Central Connecticut, secured the team title, scoring 32 points. LIU was next with 47 while Saint Francis U rounded out the top-three with 75 points.
 
Anna Blanco Duran paced the Seahawks, finishing among the top-ten, with a time of 18:51.1 in the 5K race to place eighth.
 
For Blanco Duran, she earned her first all-conference selection after placing in the top-25 a year ago.
 
Sacred Heart (119), Bryant (132), Merrimack (133) finished in fourth, fifth and sixth respectively. The Seahawks, Mount St. Mary's, St. Francis Brooklyn and Fairleigh Dickinson concluded the field.
 
Elizabeth Szambel crossed the finish line in 19:42.3 while Sara Cascio placed among the top-50 with a time of 19:58.3.
