Freddy Sabido has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
The 2020 Academic All-District® Baseball and Softball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Sabido established himself as one of the premier hitters in the Northeast Conference (NEC) in his first three years on Grymes Hill, earning All-NEC honors in all three years.
During the shortened 2020 season, the Staten Island native compiled 14 hits and nine RBIs with one home run, while earning NEC Player of the Week honors for his performance during the season-opener against Norfolk State.
In 2018, Sabido was named Northeast ABCA/Rawlings All-Northeast Region and All-ECAC after belting six home runs and recording 44 RBIs while producing a .868 OPS.
For his career, Sabido has an even .300 batting average on 192 hits and has recorded 22 home runs while batting in 118 runs in 163 games.
In the classroom, Sabido finished with a 3.74 undergraduate GPA and currently holds a 3.88 GPA as he is working towards his MBA.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA.
Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District® will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced from June 8-11.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the links above, and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
