Hackensack, NJ  –  The Wagner College women's basketball team embarks on its final regular season road trip on Monday evening when the Seahawks head to Fairleigh Dickinson. 


2020 Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament...
  • Despite falling to LIU on Saturday afternoon, the Seahawks clinched a berth in the upcoming Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament.
  • This marks the second straight season under head coach Heather Jacobs that the Green & White have qualified for the postseason.

Last Time Out For Wagner...
  • The Wagner College women's basketball team saw its two-game win streak snapped on the road at LIU on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Sharks 66-52 at the Steinberg Wellness Center.  
  • Despite the setback, the Seahawks have qualified for the 2020 Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament, marking the second consecutive year under head coach Heather Jacobs that the Green & White will be in the postseason. 
  • For the third straight game, three Seahawks scored in double-figures on the afternoon, led by junior Khaleah Edwards, who posted her third double-double of the season, finishing with a team-high 16 points while pulling down a team-best ten rebounds. 
  • Sophomore forward Emilija Krista Grava poured in 14 points while securing eight caroms in 31 minutes of action. Redshirt senior guard Janelle Mullen tallied ten points to round out the scoring for the Seahawks. 
  • Three Sharks finished in double-figures led by 14 points from Shyla Sanford, who also dished out five assists in her 31 minutes of play. Jeydah Johnson netted 13 points and seven rebounds while Kiara Bell chipped in 10 points while corralling a team-best nine rebounds.
     


Wagner All-Time Against Fairleigh Dickinson...
  • Monday's contest is the 77th meeting between the two schools with Fairleigh Dickinson holding a 40-36 edge in the head-to-head series.
  • Wagner is 17-20 all-time at the Rothman Center. 

Last Time Against The Knights... 
  • With 29 seconds left in regulation, freshman guard Alex Cowan hit a baseline jumper that put Wagner ahead of Fairleigh Dickinson, 61-60, but, following a timeout, Rachael Niles rattled home a floater that turned out to be the game-winner as the Seahawks fell to the Knights, 62-61, at the Spiro Sports Center. 
  • Sophomore forward Emilija Krista Grava finished with a game-best 24 points on 50 percent shooting from the floor (11 of 22) while coming one rebound shy of a double-double, grabbing a team-best nine caroms in 38 minutes of action.  
  • The Ligatne, Latvia native filled the stat sheet, concluding the contest with a career-high five assists while swiping a team-best two steals and adding a block.  
  • Cowan also reached double digits, finishing with 11 points in 34 minutes of action. 
  • Aniya Bell led three Knights in double digits, scoring 14 points off-the-bench while Maria Roters notched a double-double, finishing with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
  • Lauren Francillon added 12 in 29 minutes of play while dishing out a team-best four helpers. 
     
Charting EKG Levels...
  • Sophomore forward Emilija Krista Grava is currently the second-leading scorer in the Northeast Conference (NEC), averaging 16.0 ppg while ranking fourth in field-goal percentage, shooting 48.0 percent this season. 
  • In conference-only games, Krista Grava is pouring in 16.4 ppg while shooting at a 46.7 percent clip and converting 85.0 percent from the free-throw line.

  • Wagner closes out the 2019-20 regular season on Thursday, March 5 as they welcome Bryant. 
  • Prior to the start of the game, the Seahawks will honor its three student-athletes on Senior Night: Morgan Lenahan, Jordan Hobson, and Janelle Mullen.
  • Additionally, the Seahawks will recognize Charmie Jean Baptiste, the team's manager.
