Emmitsburg, MD – The Wagner College women's basketball team opens up Northeast Conference (NEC) action on the road on Thursday afternoon at Mount St. Mary's.

Wagner All-Time vs. Mount St. Mary's:
  • Wagner and Mount St. Mary's will be squaring off for the 63rd time with the Mountaineers holding a 45-17 advantage in the head-to-head series.

Wagner All-Time In Conference Openers:
  • Since Northeast Conference (NEC) play began during the 1986-87 season, Wagner is 13-20 in conference openers.
  • The Seahawks and Mountaineers have opened conference play against each other twice before, with Mount St. Mary's holding a 2-0 advantage in those games.
  • The last time these two programs squared off to open league action was back on January 3, 1998, when the Green & White fell at home, 78-69.
  • Wagner last win on the league's opening day came back on December 29, 2017, when the Seahawks gave then second-year head coach Heather Jacobs a 75-66 road triumph at Bryant.

Last Time Out For Wagner:
  • Three Seahawks scored in double figures, led by senior forward Jordan Hobson but it wasn't enough to combat Yale's 33-point third quarter as Wagner dropped its non-conference finale, 87-68, on Tuesday afternoon.
  • Hobson netted a team-high 16 points on 6-of-15 shooting from the field while hitting four three-pointers in 31 minutes of action.
  • The Richmond, CA native came within one rebound of recording her first career double-double, as she finished with a team-best nine rebounds.
  • Redshirt senior guard Janelle Mullen poured in 14 points on an efficient 6-of-10 shooting from the floor in her 23 minutes of action. The Ozone Park, NY native also grabbed four caroms, dished out two assists and swiped two steals for the Seahawks.
  • Sophomore forward Emilija Krista Grava was the third Seahawk in double-digits, netting 11 points in 19 minutes while battling foul trouble.
  • The Bulldogs had four players finish in double figures, led by Ellen Marie Andrews, who led all scorers with a game-high 22 points in 28 minutes of action. She also tied for a team-high with six rebounds.
  • Roxy Barahman (16 pts, 4 rebs, 3 assists), Alex Cade (12 pts, 4 rebs), and Kiara Astrom (11 pts, 2 assists) combined to go 15-of-23 from the field with Barahman going 7-of-10 from the floor.

A Win Over Mount Would:
  • snap a four-game losing streak for the Green and White.
  • be Wagner's 18th in the series against Mount (17-45 entering play)
  • end an eight-game losing streak on the road.
  • be the 25th win at Wagner for Head Coach Heather Jacobs

Poll Position:
  • Wagner's last four games were against teams all ranked among the top 25 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll.
  • The Seahawks took on Stony Brook to open the month of December, as the Seawolves are ranked No. 18 in the latest poll.
  • From there, Wagner traveled to Rider, who is ranked No. 20 in the poll and followed that trip with a visit to Colgate, who received ten votes in the latest mid-major voting.
  • The Green & White closed out its non-conference slate at Yale on New Year's Eve, as the Bulldogs entered play ranked No. 23 in the poll.

Thursday Matchups:
  • Last season, the Seahawks had only one Thursday game on the schedule, and it was the regular-season finale at Bryant, in which Wagner dropped a close 76-73 decision.
  • This season, Wagner will play a total of three games on Thursday, starting with this afternoon's contest against Mount, followed by a February 21 home tilt against Central Connecticut and concluding the regular season at home against Bryant on March 5.
