 Wagner | LIU Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY  –  The Wagner College women's basketball team concludes its "home-and-home" series with the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds on Saturday afternoon from the Steinberg Wellness Center. The Seahawks are looking for the regular season sweep of their Brooklyn counterparts for the first time since the 2008-09 season, when the Green & White posted identical 53-51 triumphs over LIU (January 10 at the Spiro Sports Center | February 14 at LIU Brooklyn).

Wagner picked up a 72-62, wire-to-wire victory over the visiting Blackbirds last Saturday in a contest that saw three Seahawks score in double figures, led by redshirt sophomore Taylah Simmons, who produced her fourth double-double of the season, finishing with a game-high 27 points and 15 rebounds in 33 minutes of action.  LIU was led by Brandy Thomas, who poured in a team-high 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field. Jeydah Johnson, the team's leading scorer, was held without a field goal in the contest (0-for-13) while finishing with six points in 36 minutes of play.

Overall, Wagner is looking to erase a four-game losing streak at the Steinberg Wellness Center.
