Hackensack, NJ – The Wagner College women's basketball team concludes its brief, two-game road swing on Saturday afternoon in Hackensack, NJ as the Seahawks square off against the Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights. Wagner is looking to bounce back after seeing its season-high four-game win streak snapped on Monday evening in a 81-66 setback at Mount St. Mary's while the Knights will be looking to halt a five-game losing skid, having dropped a 68-48 decision at Bryant on Monday.
A win over the Knights on Sunday would clinch a Northeast Conference (NEC) tournament berth for the first time since 2014, when Wagner claimed the No. 7 seed and was pitted against the No. 2-seed Mount St. Mary's (lost, 75-66).
If Wagner picks up two more wins over the final five league games, the Green & White finished 15-13 overall and 10-8 in conference play.

Last Time Out For Wagner:
- Trailing 59-48 entering the fourth quarter, Wagner outscored Mount St. Mary's 13-8 over a near three-minute stretch in cutting the deficit to six, 67-61, before the Mountaineers closed out the game on a 14-5 run to win it by a count of 81-66 on Monday night at Knott Arena.
- With the loss, Wagner, who falls to 9-15 overall and 7-6 in the Northeast Conference (NEC), saw its season-high four-game winning streak halted while the Mountaineers move to .500 overall with a 12-12 record and a 6-7 in league contests.
- Three Seahawks finished in double-figures, led by Co-NEC Player of the Week, Taylah Simmons, who tallied a team-high 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field in 37 minutes of action. The Melbourne, Australia native also grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds while dishing out three assists.
- Junior forward, Jordan Hobson, hit for a new career-high, ending with 16 points, of which 13 came in the first half of play. The Richmond, CA native tied her season-high mark of four made three-pointers, while also leading the way for the visitors with a career-best four steals in 27 minutes of action.
- Senior point guard Nakylia Carter was the third Seahawk to reach double-figures, as the Oklahoma City, OK native netted 11 points, nine of those coming from the free-throw line. Carter also contributed on the boards, corralling six rebounds while playing the entire 40 minutes.
- The Mountaineers had four score in double digits, led by Rebecca Lee's game-high 22 points (9-of-11 FG) in 23 minutes of action. Juliette Lawless netted 20 on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor, highlighted by a perfect 4-of-4 from the outside and 6-of-6 accuracy from the free throw line in her 28 minutes of play.
- Jatarrikah Settle and Michaela Harrison rounded out the double-figure scoring production for the Mountaineers, finishing with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
- Wagner opened the game on a 10-4 run, before Mount St. Mary's trimmed the deficit to three, 10-7, thanks to a three-pointer from Harrison. The visiting Seahawks outscored the Mountaineers, 12-10, over the remainder of the period in taking a 22-17 lead. The Seahawks shot a blistering 64.3 percent from the field in the opening quarter while holding the Mount to just 37.0 percent shooting.
- Lee jumped-started the final quarter with a layup that extended the home team's advantage to 61-48, before the Green & White answered back. Sophomore guard, Khaleah Edwards (5p, 7r, 3a) drilled a corner three-pointer in front of her team's bench that ignited an 8-0 run, which was capped off by Hobson's fourth three-pointer of the evening, and trimmed the Mountaineers lead to five, 61-56, with 8:26 left in regulation.
- Sophomore Alayshia Dailey (8p, 1r, 25 minutes) was then able to create space along the baseline and muscle her way to the basket, as Wagner found themselves down 11, 75-64, at the 3:07 mark. But it wasn't enough as the Mountaineers closed the game out scoring six of the final eight points in recording the 81-66 win to split the season series.
Inside The Wagner | Fairleigh Dickinson Series:
- Saturday's contest between the Seahawks and the Knights marks the 76th all-time meeting, with FDU leading the head-to-head series, 40-35.
- Wagner is looking for a regular season sweep of the Knights, after posting a 71-59 win at the Spiro Sports Center back on January 14. In that contest, three Seahawks scored in double-figures, led by a 20-point performance from Taylah Simmons. Freshman Emilija Krista Grava chipped in 19 while sophomore guard Alayshia Dailey netted 13 points along with five assists and three steals in the victory.
- With a win over FDU this afternoon, Wagner will pick up its third season sweep of an NEC opponent (Central Connecticut and LIU Brooklyn).
- The Seahawks are looking for its first season sweep of FDU since the 2004-05 season, in which the Seahawks earned a 69-44 victory at home on Feb. 2, 2005 and completed the sweep on Feb. 7, 2005, 57-50.
- In program history, Wagner held an impressive 20-game win streak over Fairleigh Dickinson, which spanned from January 24, 1994 until February 7, 2006, when the Knights defeated the Seahawks, 69-50, on Staten Island.

Scouting The Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights:
- Fairleigh Dickinson enters Saturday's contest with Wagner at 6-18 overall and 3-10 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play, which is currently tied with Central Connecticut for the eighth and final playoff spot in the upcoming tournament.
- The Knights are looking to snap a five-game losing streak, after dropping an 88-46 decision on the road at Bryant on Monday afternoon.
- FDU ranks in the bottom of the conference in scoring, netting 58.0 ppg but have allowed the third-fewest points in the league at 65.6 ppg.
- The Knights, however, rank second in the circuit in free throw percentage, converting 72.5 percent from the charity stripe this season and third in league-only contests (75.3%).
- Lauren Francillon, who leads the squad in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots, is averaging 10.2 ppg (14th in the NEC), 6.3 rpg (10th in the league) and 1.2 bpg (5th in the league).
- Natalie Zamora, who is averaging 2.3 steals per contest, is tied for the league lead with Wagner's Nakylia Carter in that category.
