Lawrenceville, NJ – The Wagner College women's basketball team begins a three-game road trip to close out the calendar year as they head to Lawrenceville, NJ to square off with the Rider University Broncs on Wednesday, December 18.

Tipoff from Alumni Gymnasium is set for 7:00 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN3 


Wagner All-Time vs. Rider: 
  • Wagner trails in the head-to-head matchup against Rider, 13-8. 
  • The Seahawks and Broncs are playing one another for the first time since December of 2006. 
  • The Green & White will look for its first win in Lawrenceville since February 25, 1993, when the Seahawks edged out Rider, 61-58.

Wagner All-Time Against The MAAC:
  • All-time against the current members of the MAAC, Wagner is 85-135. 
  • Wagner is 1-0 this season against the MAAC, defeating Saint Peter's, 90-89, back on November 15 at the Spiro Sports Center. 


Last Time Out For Wagner: 
  • The Wagner College women's basketball team suffered its first loss at the Spiro Sports Center this season, falling to the Stony Brook University Seawolves, 66-45, on Sunday afternoon. 
  • Junior Khaleah Edwards and sophomore Emilija Krista Grava both reached double figures in the non-conference battle. Edwards led the way with 14 points, 11 in the second half, while also grabbing a team-best seven rebounds. Krista Grava netted 11 points in 30 minutes of action.
  • The freshmen duo of Alex Cowan and Katrice Jackson combined for 13 points with Cowan netting seven and dishing out three helpers.  
  • Three Seawolves scored in double digits, led by Kaela Hilaire's game-high 23 points. India Pagan chipped in 13 while Jonae Cox added 10 points off the bench. 

 
A Win Over Rider Would: 
  • be Wagner's first road victory of the season
  • be the Seahawks second win over a MAAC opponent this season
  • be the first over Rider since February 1, 1997, when the Seahawks earned a 65-60 triumph on Staten Island. 


About Rider: 
  • The Broncs enter play with 5-2 overall record and are winners of two straight games, most recently, a 65-64 road victory at Georgetown on December 14. 
  • Rider is 2-0 at home this season. 
  • Stella Johnson is the leading scorer in D-I at 29.4 points per game, while also ranking in the top three in the country in made free throws (70) and free-throw attempts (82). 
  • Amari Johnson is the team's second-leading scorer, pouring in 10.4 ppg while pacing the Broncs on the glass, pulling down 9.1 caroms a game. 
  • As a whole, Rider is averaging 67.9 points per game while shooting 39.7 percent from the field and 34.1 percent from the outside. 
  • The Broncs are second in the MAAC in free-throw percentage, shooting 77.4 percent and lead the conference in field goal percentage defense, holding the opposition to just 34.7 percent from the field.
  • Rider averages 4.3 blocks per game, led by Amari Johnson, who averages 1.6 rejections a game. 

Next Up For Wagner:
  • Wagner will conclude the week with a trip to Upstate New York as the Seahawks will take on Colgate on Sunday, December 22. 
  • Tipoff from Cotterell Court is scheduled for 2:00 p.m and will be streamed live on the Patriot League Network.
