Staten Island, NY – Coming off a thrilling 81-77 victory over Saint Peter's on Wednesday, the Wagner College men's basketball team returns to the Spiro Sports Center, where the Seahawks will take on the 4-2 Stony Brook Seawolves on Saturday at 3:00 pm.

Overtime Thriller
Knotted at 61-61 after regulation, the Seahawks men's basketball team outscored Saint Peter's 20-16 in the overtime period to earn an exciting 81-77 victory on Wednesday night. The win also marked a homecoming victory for head coach and Jersey City native Bashir Mason, as his traditionally tough defense held the opponent to 39.3% (24-61) from the field.

Cobb Closes In On 1,000 Points
Against the Peacocks, graduate Student Curtis Cobb III led the way once again with 25 points, including the first eight points of the game for Wagner and 10 in overtime. For his career, Cobb is now just 12 points shy of the 1,000 point mark after scoring 687 points in two years at Fairfield, 193 points in one season at UMass, and 108 points in five games for the Seahawks. This season, Cobb is averaging 21.6 points per game, including a season-high 40 points in Wagner's first home game of the year against Wesley.

Calm At The Free Throw Line
The Seahawks stayed mentally tough at the free throw line on Wednesday night, going 39-48 (81.3%) as a team, including 16-19 (84.2%) in the overtime period to seal the victory. The clutch performance raised the Seahawks' season average from the charity stripe by over 5 points, as Cobb and junior Elijah Ford both connected on double digit free throws.

Martinez In The Clutch
In Wednesday's win over Saint Peter's junior Will Martinez added 10 points, none bigger than a traditional three-point play in overtime with 1:12 remaining that gave Wagner a 71-65 lead. Eight of Martinez's ten points came in the overtime period, making a big difference in Wagner's three-point victory.

Getting Healthy
With junior Chase Freeman returning to the starting lineup on Wednesday and junior Nigel Jackson making his season debut against NJIT last Saturday, the Seahawks are getting healthier. Overall, 11 players have seen action for Wagner this season.

The Series
Saturday's matchup marks the eighth meeting between Wagner and Stony Brook, with the Seahawks holding a 5-2 advantage in the series. The last meeting between the two teams took place during the 2010-11 season, with Wagner earning a 58-54 victory.

Scouting The Seawolves
Stony Brook comes into the weekend with a 4-2 record after four straight victories over Farmingdale State, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, UTRGV, and North Dakota State. The only common opponent the Seahawks and Seawolves have faced this season is Seton Hall, with the Pirates earning a 74-57 victory over Stony Brook on November 9.

Next Up For Wagner
Following the Thanksgiving holiday, Wagner will travel to Big East member St. John's on Saturday, November 30, with tip-off scheduled for 12 pm.
