Staten Island, NY – Looking for its third straight win, the Wagner College women's basketball team closes out its first homestand of the 2019-20 season on Tuesday evening as they welcome the NJIT Highlanders.

Wagner All-Time vs. NJIT:
  • Tuesday's contest marks the 10th all-time meeting between these two schools with NJIT holding a slim 5-4 lead in the head-to-head series.
  • This is the first time these two schools are meeting since November 12, 2016, in which the Seahawks dropped a 68-45 decision on the road at NJIT.
  • All four wins by Wagner in this series have all been at home, and by an average of 17 points.

Last Time Out For Wagner:
  • The Wagner College women's basketball team, behind three players scoring in double figures, earned its second straight home win on Saturday afternoon, defeating America East members, UMBC, 67-60, at the Spiro Sports Center.
  • Sophomore forward Emilija Krista Grava, on the heels of a 45-point outburst against Saint Peter's on Wednesday evening, led the way for the Green & White, recording a team-high 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting while also pulling down seven rebounds in 37 minutes of action.
  • Reigning Northeast Conference (NEC) Rookie of the Week, Alex Cowan, nearly notched her first career double-double, concluding the game with 15 points, ten of which coming in the second half, on 4-of-8 shooting while grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out four assists.
  • Junior Khaleah Edwards reached double-digits for the second straight contest, as the London, England native added 11 points in 34 minutes of play.
  • UMBC was led by Te'yJah Oliver, who had a game-high 26 points on a 9-of-19 performance from the field. Janee'a Summers was the second Retriever to net double-digits, finishing with 12 points and grabbing a team-high eight caroms.

About NJIT...
  • NJIT is looking for its first win of the 2019-20 season, as they recently dropped a 68-44 decision to Cornell at Newman Arena back on Saturday.
  • Maria Fux and Maddie Martin each had nine points to lead the Highlanders.
  • Ellyn Stoll and Kenna Squier are averaging 8.8 and 8.4 points per game.
  • Danielle Tunstall has paced NJIT on the boards, grabbing close to ten caroms a contest (9.8 rpg).
  • The Seahawks are the first of three NEC opponents that NJIT will see this season. Next Tuesday, the Highlanders will host St. Francis Brooklyn  on November 26 and wrap up against the conference on December 10 at home against Fairleigh Dickinson.

A WIN WOULD...
  • be Wagner's third straight...
  • even the head-to-head series with NJIT...
  • improve the Seahawks record to 3-0 at home this season....
  • would be the second win against a member of the Atlantic Sun conference...
  • even up head coach Heather Jacobs all-time record against NJIT (1-1).

Krista Grava Named NEC & College Sports Madness Player of the Week...
  • Wagner sophomore forward Emilija Krista Grava was named Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
  • Additionally, Krista Grava was named to the College Sports Madness Mid-Major National Player of the Week
  • For Krista Grava, it is her first Player of the Week citation and second overall from the conference, as she was tabbed Rookie of the Week almost a year to the day (November 18).
  • The Ligatne, Latvia native put on an absolute clinic for the Seahawks in leading Wagner to a 2-0 week, which included the game-winner against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) members, Saint Peter's.
  • Facing a one-point deficit, 89-88 with 2.4 seconds left, redshirt junior guard Morgan Lenahan lofted the inbounds pass high over a Saint Peter's defender to Krista Grava, who pulled down the ball, spun and rattled home what turned out to be the game-winner as Wagner defeated the Peacocks, 90-89, on Wednesday evening in Wagner's home opener at the Spiro Sports Center.
  • The second-year forward went for a career-high 45 points, 21 of which came in the first half, as she finished the contest shooting 21-of-33 from the floor while recording a double-double in the process, grabbing 11 rebounds. She surpassed her previous career-high of 20 points, which she recorded in the season opener at then ranked No.4/5, Maryland.
  • The 45 point outburst marked the first time since December 18, 2015 in which a Seahawk eclipsed the 40-point threshold, as former Seahawk standout, Jasmine Nwajei, netted 45 at home against Stony Brook.
  • The point total moved her into a tie with Nwajei for third-place on the single-game scoring list while her 21 made field goals set a new single-game high mark.
  • For the two-game stretch, Krista Grava averaged a robust 34.5 points per game to go along with 9.0 rebounds while shooting 64.6 percent from the field.
  • Closing out the week at home against UMBC, Krista Grava led the way for the Green & White with a team-high 24 points on an efficient 10-of-15 shooting from the field while corralling seven caroms in 37 minutes of work.

170 FOR COACH JACOBS...
  • Saturday's 67-60 home victory over UMBC marked the 170th career coaching victory for head coach, Heather Jacobs.
