Williamsburg, VA - The Wagner College track & field team competed at the 52nd Annual Berkeley Realty Colonial Relays, held at Walter J. Zable Stadium at Cary Field on the campus of William and Mary University.
Out of 46 men's teams that competed, the Seahawks finished in a tie for 18th place as they garnered 19 points. The women's team, out of 45 teams, tied for 35th place.
Men's Track & Field Recap:
Freshman
Jordan Davenport (Naples, FL/Gulf Coast) took fourth in the 200m with an IC4A qualifying time of 22.05. Junior
Quincy Rasin (New Bern, NC/New Bern) placed fifth in the 400m clocking in at 48.39, which also meets the IC4A time for the event. Freshman
Dylan Beard (Baltimore, MD/Archbishop Spalding) crossed the finish line at 15.71 in the 110H. First-year Seahawk
Jonathan Besselink (Kingston, Ontario/Holy Cross Catholic Secondary) ranked among the top-20 in the 3000 Steeplechase with a time of 9:29.13.
Both the 4x100 and SMR squads took ninth place finishes. Beard, junior
Michael Songore (Marondera, Zimbabwe/Peterhouse High School) Davenport, and Rasin made up the 4x100 team that posted a time of 42.88. Davenport, Beard, Rasin and freshman
Nick Velez (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph By The Sea) composed the SMR squad that finished at 3:31.24.
Sophomore
Justin Mirfield (Staten Island, NY/Staten Island Technical) took sixth in the high jump with a leap of 1.89m while senior
Hamza Ahmed (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) finished 12th. Senior
Devon Jones (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) placed third in the long jump championship event at 6.73m while Mirfield and senior
Isaiah Gills (Bel Air, MD/Harford Technical High School) leaped 6.42m and 6.10m, respectively. Gills took first in the triple jump college portion at 14.01m while Jones finished fifth in the triple jump championships at 14.45m. Rounding out the men's performances was sophomore thrower Lufti Pocesta (Staten Island, NY/ Susan E. Wagner) ranked among the top-15 in the hammer throw with a launch of 40.69m.

Senior thrower
Zhane Stones (Philadelphia, PA/School of the Future) took third in the shot put with a throw of 13.83m. Senior
Courtney Titus (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) took sixth in the pole vault event, jumping over the bar at 3.00m. Freshman
Kaela Schrier (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) finished ninth in the javelin, with a toss of 38.57m. Junior
Halima Diawara (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) placed 16th in the 400H with a time of 1:04.55.
The 4x100 and 4x200 finished among the top-15, respectively, with times of 48.82 and 1:43.38. The 4x100 squad was made up of freshman
Tiara Howard (New Brunswick, NJ/New Brunswick HS), sophomore
Kenya Hyman (Ajax, Ontario/Pickering), sophomore
Miracle Nwobu (Staten Island, NY/Port Richmond) and freshman
Taylor Davis (West Hartford, CT/Conard). The 4x200 quartet was run by Nwobu, Hyman, Davis and sophomore
Shavel Brown (Boynton Beach, FL/Boynton Beach).
The Seahawks are scheduled to compete at the College of New Jersey Invitational, held in Ewing, NJ on April 8.
