The Great Danes, who were picked No. 1 in the America East preseason poll and No. 9 in the Mid-Major preseason poll, enter the contest with a 4-5 record and are coming off a 59-45 victory over Fairfield on December 6. Albany marks the second America East opponent that the Seahawks will face this season as the Green & White dropped a 73-40 decision at the University of New Hampshire back on November 26. The Great Danes are coming off a 28-5 season and defeated Florida in the first round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament before losing to Syracuse in round two. Albany is led by 5-8 senior guard Imani Tate who is averaging 20.4 points per game, which includes a career-high 31-point outing in an 89-82 overtime loss at Fordham on November 22

Kerstie Phills (Charlotte, NC / Charlotte Christian) added 11 points, seven rebounds and two steals. McClure's 14-point effort came on 6-fo-10 shooting while Phills was 5-for-11 from the floor.
