Moon Township, PA – The Wagner men's lacrosse team, which delivered several high water marks this season including the most wins and first three-game winning streak in program history, fell 14-6 at Robert Morris today in the 2015 season finale, behind a six-goal performance by Luke Laszkiewicz.

Today's loss gives the Green & White a deceiving 4-9 overall final record and a 1-5 mark in Northeast Conference (NEC) play, while the Colonials end their season at 2-4 in the league and 3-11 overall.

The Seahawks were 4-4 on the season before falling in their final five games, which included two one-goal losses, one of which came in overtime, and another by a two-goal margin. Under head coach Matt Poskay, Wagner fielded its most competitive team since the program was established in 2001 and the future bodes well. In 2016, the Green & White will welcome back their top six scorers from a 41-man roster that featured 17 freshmen and 12 sophomores. Freshman attackman Andrew Streilein (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape), a two-time NEC Rookie of the Week selection, led Wagner in goals (21) and points (30).

Wagner fell behind 7-1 after one quarter today. The Seahawks gamely fought back in the second period, going on a 3-1 run in cutting the deficit to 8-4 before Jacob Ruest scored with one second left in the half, giving the Colonials a 9-4 lead and momentum heading into the break.

Freshman midfielder Billy Orme (Great Falls, VA/Langley) opened the second half with his second goal of the game, off an assist from redshirt-sophomore attackman Patrick McMenamin (Longport, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) to make it a 9-5 game with 14:04 left in the third quarter. This was as close as the Seahawks would get, however, as the Colonials reeled off the next three goal en route to the 14-6 win.

Patrick McMenamin's three points (2G, 1A) led the way for Wagner. Finishing with two points apiece were Orme (2G), fellow freshman midfielder JP Pawela (Montgomery Village, MD/St. John's College) (1G, 1A), and junior midfielder Paul DeVita (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) (1G, 1A).

In goal, senior Anthony Peruso (Waldwick, NY/John S. Burke Catholic) made eight saves. Senior defenseman Matt Bunting (Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) collected a team-high six ground balls while coming up with two caused turnovers. Junior defenseman Daniel Valencia (Gaithersburg, MD/Gaithersburg) was also credited with two caused turnovers while freshman midfielder Brian Hadley (Summit, NJ/Summit) won six faceoffs for the Green & White.

In addition to Laszkiewicz's six goals, Adrian Torok-Orban added three scores while Eric Rankel finished with two goals and three assists. Starting goalie Chase Rose recorded 10 saves while playing the first 55:14 before giving way to Brett Case who stopped three shots in his 4:46 between the pipes.

Robert Morris held a slight 39-36 edge in shots, led in ground balls 39-14 and won 16-of-23 faceoffs. The Colonials were 1-of-2 on extra-man opportunities while Wagner was 0-of-2 on EMO's.
