The Seahawks, who had not played since their season-opening 10-5 home loss to Lafayette on February 13, due to the postponement of the February 17 game at Monmouth, fall to 0-2 on the season. Rutgers, which was coming off of Saturday's 14-5 home defeat to No. 5 Virginia, evens its record at 2-2 on the young season.
While Wagner was never able to take the lead this afternoon, this was a highly-competitive, back-and-forth contest and a game that was tied at 5-5, 6-6, 9-9 and 10-10. This final deadlock came at the 13:06 mark of the fourth quarter when junior midfielder
Paul DeVita (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) fired home an extra-man opportunity off an assist from junior attackman
Billy Battaglia (Madison, NJ/Madison).
With 11:34 left, Jules Heningburg of Rutgers found the back of the net off a Scott Bieda assist to kick-startthe game-ending 3-0 run as Chad Toliver followed with goals at 6:12 and 4:09 to complete the 13-10 win.
Rutgers out-shot Wagner 39-34 and won 19-of-26 faceoffs, while holding a 46-26 edge in ground balls.

Andrew Streilein (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) and midfielder

August Colonna (Northfield, MA/Northfield Mount Hermon) also tallied a pair of goals for the Green & White while redshirt-sophomore midfielder
Patrick McMenamin (Longport, NJ/St. Augustine Prep), and senior attackman
David DeCirce (Clarence, NY/Clarence) added one goal apiece.

Rutgers was led by hat tricks by Toliver and Christian Trasoloni, while Heninburg and Bieda finished with two goals each. Goalie Jake Andersen recorded seven first-half saves in recording the win before giving way to Kris Alleyne, who came on to make three saves while playing the entire second half.
