Northeast Conference (NEC) victory over Wagner this afternoon at the Steinberg Center.
Sophomore guard
Jasmine Nwajei (Rockaway Park, NY/Murry Bergtraum), who entered the game as
the nation's leading scorer with a 25.2 points per game average, finished with a team-high 15 points while adding seven rebounds. The 5-8 guard, who now averages 24.8 points overall and 26.7 in NEC play, entered the game ranked No. 7 nationally in steals and wound up with a game-high five pilfers on the afternoon.
Freshman
Sofia Roma (Richmond Hill, NY/Nazareth Regional) continued her productive season, as the 6-2 forward delivered seven points while pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds in the low post for the Seahawks, who also received six-point outings from sophomore guards
Lyndsay Rowe (South River, NJ/St. John Vianney) and
Maria Conyers-Jordan (Philadelphia, PA/Friends' Central).
With the loss, Wagner falls to 6-20 overall on the season and 4-11 in NEC play while the Blackbirds are now 8-18 on the year and 5-11 in league play.
Wagner, which remains alive for a berth in the upcoming eight-team NEC Tournament, is back in action on Monday, February 23 when the Green & White host Bryant in the home season finale at 7:00 p.m., before concluding the regular season with road tilts at Mount St. Mary's and Robert Morris.
