Fairfield, CT– The Wagner men's lacrosse team will travel to Sacred Heart for a Northeast Conference (NEC) clash tonight with faceoff between the Seahawks and Pioneers set for 7:00 pm with a rainy forecast on tap.

The Green & White, who enter the contest with a 2-8 record overall and an NEC mark of 0-3, will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak. Wagner owns wins over Monmouth, an epic 7-6 four-overtime thriller on February 26, and at VMI, who the Seahawks edged 7-6 on March 18.

The Pioneers enter tonight's matchup in third-place in the NEC standings at 2-1 while sporting an overall mark of 4-7. Displaying a competitive brand of lacrosse despite suffering injuries to several key players, Wagner has dropped a pair of one-goal decisions, to Detroit on a last-second goal on March 8, which was followed by an 11-10 double-overtime loss to Vermont on March 15.

Statistically, the Seahawks lead the nation in caused turnovers at 10.70 per game and are ranked 17th in saves per game with an average of 11.70. Individually, senior goalie Nicholas Gibaldi (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point) is ranked21st in the nation with an average of 10.70 saves per game.

Starting in place of the injured William McMenamin (Longport, NJ/St. Augustine Prep), freshman Anthony Labetti (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) has performed admirably in the faceoff circle, with a winning percentage of .478 (43-of-90).

The Seahawks are paced offensively by sophomore Griffen Leclaire (White Rock, BC/Toronto, Hill Academy) who checks in with 25 points (14 goals, 11 assists). Redshirt-freshman Patrick McMenamin (Longport, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) is second on the team in scoring with 23 points (13 goals, 10 assists), while  sophomore Paul DeVita (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) has 15 points (11 goals, 4 assists) to his credit.

Sophomore Daniel Valencia (Gaithersburg, MD/Gaithersburg) and junior Matt Bunting (Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) lead the Seahawks defensively with 16 and 15 caused turnovers, respectively.

The Seahawks conclude the 2014 regular season with NEC road dates at Mount St. Mary's (4/19) and at Bryant (4/26).
