Richmond, VA – Dan Ginestro and Jean-Luc Chetner scored four and three goals, respectively, while Brad Burnam distributed four assists to offset the career-high four-goal outing by Wagner redshirt-freshman Patrick McMenamin (Longport, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) as Richmond posted a 14-7 win over the Seahawks in men's lacrosse action tonight.

With the loss, the Green & White fall to 2-5 on the season while the Spiders improve to 2-7.

Richmond led 4-1 after one quarter and extended their lead to 7-1 at halftime. After building a 14-4 fourth-quarter lead, the Seahawks notched the last three goals of the game over the final 9:14 to make it a 14-7 final.

Richmond out-shot Wagner 37-19 and led in groundballs 49-37. Despite being without the services of No. 1 faceoff man William McMenamin (Longport, NJ/St. Augustine Prep), who was injured in Tuesday's 7-6 win over VMI, the Seahawks won 17-of-25 faceoffs. In McMenamin's absence, freshman Anthony Labetti (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) stepped to the fore, winning 15-of-23 faceoffs ,while collecting a game-high nine groundballs.

Sophomore Billy Battaglia (Madison, NJ/Madison) registered four points on a goal and a career-high three assists, while sophomores Paul DeVita (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) and Reed Leclaire (White Rock, British Columbia / Toronto, Hill Academy) chipped in with one goal.

Senior Nicholas Gibaldi (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point) recorded seven saves in goal while playing the first 52:27 before giving way to junior Anthony Peruso (Warwick, NY / John S. Burke Catholic) who registered one save in the final 7:33 of the game.

Wagner is next in action on Sunday, March 30 when the Seahawks play host to the Mercer University Bears in a 1:00 pm start.
