Richmond, VA – The 2-4 Wagner men's lacrosse team looks complete a sweep of its two-game Spring Break road trip in the state of Virginia when the Seahawks take on 1-7 Richmond at 8:00 pm, fresh off of
Tuesday night's 7-6 victory over Virginia Military Institute (VMI).
Sophomore
Griffen LeClaire (White Rock, British Columbia / Toronto, Hill Academy) is the team-leader in points with 16 on seven goals and nine assists, while redshirt-freshman
Patrick McMenamin (Longport, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) is second in scoring with 12 points (3 goals, 9 assists). Sophomore
Paul DeVita (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) is third in scoring with 11 points (eight goals, three assists).
In goal, senior
Nicholas Gibaldi (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point) has recorded 60 saves, sports a sparkling Goals Against Average of 9.88, with a .508 save percentage in 352:15 of action between the pipes.
Redshirt-freshman
William McMenamin (Longport, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) has won 57-of-109 faceoffs (.523) and his average of 8.60 faceoffs per game ranked No. 16 in the nation entering the week. On March 3, the gritty 5-5, 155-pound McMenamin was instrumental in the win over Monmouth, winning an impressive15-of-17 faceoffs for a winning percentage of .882, while collecting an eye-opening 13 ground balls.
Much-improved in virtually every statistical category over last season, the Green & White entered this week's play ranked No. 1 nationally with average of 12.8 caused turnovers per game. Individually, sophomore
