The young, new-look Wagner women's basketball team will travel to South Orange, NJ to meet the Seton Hall Pirates, members of the BIG EAST Conference, in a 2:00 pm tilt at Walsh Gymnasium.  The Seahawks are 1-2 on the season. posting a 70-57 road win at Monmouth (11/14), in-between losses to No. 7 Kentucky (96-57 on Nov. 10) and most recently, at Iona (0-59 on Nov. 20).

Peck, Nwajei Pace Seahawks
The Seahawks are paced by sophomore guard Jordyn Peck, a left-handed sharp-shooter who is averaging a team-best 17.7 points per game through Wagner's first three games of the season. The 5-6 Peck tossed in a career-high 24 points last time out at Iona on Wednesday. Peck scored 18 of her 24 ponts during a torrid second half which included her running off 11 consecutive Seahawk points during an 11-3 early second-half-run. Pecvk was 7-of-15 shooting on the night, including 5-of-7 marksmanship from three-point range with her five treys tying her career high.  The previous time out, at Monmouth on Nov. 14, Peck tallied 21 points. For the season, she is .474 (9-19) from three-point range and .842 (16-19) from the free throw line. Peck's running mate in the Seahawk backcourt, freshman point guard Jasmine Nwajei, is off to an impressive start to her collegiate career. She started the 2013-14 season off with a bang, scoring the first five points of the game in the Nov. 10 season opener vs. No. 7 Kentucky, en route to a team-high 19-point outing. The 5-8 Nwajei then raised the bar on her career high with a 20-point outburst in Wagner's 70-57 come-from-behind win at former NEC rival Monmouth on Nov. 14. Through three games, Nwajei is averaging 16.3 points per game.
 
About the Pirates
Today's game vs. Wagner begins a four-game homestand for the 3-1 Pirates who, minus three starters, dropped an 88-67 decision at No. 21/17 South Carolina lon Nov. 17 in Columbia. Despite being shorthanded, the Pirates led South Carolina with less than a minute to play in the first half and went into the intermission down just two before foul trouble caught up in the second half. Sophomore Tabatha Richardson-Smith continued to display a hot hand, tallying 24 points and eight boards, which marked third-straight20-point effort.  Seton Hall opened the season with home wins over Longwood, Rider and Weber State. Richarsdson-Smith, a 6-0 sophomore forward, leads the Pirates at 22. 5 points per game. Also averaging in double figures for the Pirates are 5-8 redshirt junior guard Ka-Deidre Simmons and Bra'Shey Ali, a 6-0 junior forward who check in at 17.0 and 10.0 points per game, respectively.
 
All-Time vs. Seton Hall
The Seahawks will be facing Seton Hall for the ninth time overall and the first time since Nov. 21, 2008 when Wagner dropped a 90-59 decision in South Orange.
