New Britain, CT – Led by junior
Daniel Zaccariello's (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph By The Sea) seventh-place finish, the Wagner men's cross country team took fourth out of 10 teams at the Ted Owen Invitational. Northeastern won the team title with 43 points, with the Huskies' Wesley Gallagher claiming the individual title with a time of 25:29.43.
In arguably his most impressive race of the year, Zaccariello was the second-fastest Northeast Conference (NEC) runner on the day, finishing just behind Fairleigh Dickinson's Darrel Gooding, with a mark of 26:04.47 on the eight kilometer course.
Sophomore
James Naglieri (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) was the next Seahawk to cross the finish line, placing 19th in 26:49.78.
One spot behind Naglieri in 20th was sophomore
Jacob Malakoff (Tasmania, Australia / Friends / Hofstra), who clocked a time of 26:53.42.

Timothy Mendez (West Haverstraw, NY / North Rockland) was 39th in 27:45.15. Freshman
Darius Moulton (Brisbane, Australia) rounded out the scorers for the Green & White, placing 71st in 28:56.16.
Northeastern won the aforementioned team title and was followed by UConn (58), Hartford (118), Wagner (125), Rhode Island (136), Central Connecticut (140), Marist (148), Franklin Pierce (187), Southern Connecticut State (223) and Fairleigh Dickinson (241).
The Seahawks return to action on Friday, October 5 with their participation in the METS Championships at Van Cortland Park.
