Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College women's lacrosse team looks for its third straight win when the Seahawks and Liberty meet for the first time on the lacrosse field in a 1:00 pm tussle Saturday.
Coming off wins over Manhattan (16-9) and Siena (17-7), the Seahawks will be looking to even their season record at 3-3. The Flames, meanwhile, got off to the same 0-3 start as Wagner before knocking off LIU-Brooklyn 19-14 on Thursday and the Lynchburg, VA-based school is looking for a sweep of Northeast Conference (NEC) teams during their brief stay in the Metropolitan area.
Wagner will have something to say about that. Leading the Seahawks is two-time and reigning NEC Player of the Week
Carolyn Clark (Syracuse, NY/ Westhill). The agile, athletic and crafty Clark rattled home five goals in each of Wagner's two games last week in leading the Seahawks to victories over Manhattan and Siena while continuing to leave her imprint throughout the Seahawk record book.
Clark tallied four of her five goals in the first half vs. Manhattan on Feb. 29 as the Seahawks jumped out to a 9-5 lead at intermission en route to their16-9 win.
On March 3, Clark enjoyed her second consecutive five-goal game, third of the season and fourth of her career, in leading Wagner past Siena 17-7. On the season, Clark leads the Seahawks with 16 points on 15 goals and one assist and boasts a shooting percentage of .469. For her career, Clark is up to 111 goals which are tied for third on the Wagner all-time list. The 5-5 Clark is also ninth in career points with 129 and eighth in draw controls at 89.
Sophomore attacker
Sam Morin (Rockville Center, NY/ South Side) is second on the team in both goals (11) and points (13). Senior midfielder
Lauren Petrik (Baldwinsville, NY/ C.W. Baker) is next on the team in scoring with 12 points on seven goals and five assists. Junior attacker
Erika Bulken (Baldwinsville,, NY/ C.W. Baker), a high school teammate of Petrik's, has nine points on one goal and a team-leading eight assists.
Bulken, who has bounced back in a big way from a season-ending knee injury sustained early last season, is also the team's far and away leader in draw controls with 36, which computes to 7.5 per game and ranks fourth in the nation. Sophomore midfielder

Melanie Garces (San Diego, CA/ Westview) and
Denieda McCullough (Freeport, NY/ Freeport) have totaled eight points apiece.
On the defensive side, sophomore
Katy Bender (Cherry Hill, NJ/ Cherry Hill West) leads the Seahawks in caused turnovers with seven to go with six ground balls. In goal, freshman
Shannon Sweeney (Madison, NJ/ Madison) has started the last two games and earned wins in both. On the season, she has 22 saves and a GAA of 9.25. Sophomore
Morgan Roach (Syracuse, NY/ Westhill) has come up with 16 saves.
Liberty's Morgan Becker scored four times and the Flames received three-goal efforts from Nina Dunay and Kristin Crowley while goalkeeper Kristen Masullo tied her school record with 19 saves to lead the Flames past LIU-Brooklyn. Becker and Crowley pace the Flames offensively with 10 points as each has recorded eight goals and two assists.
