Hamden, CT - The Wagner College women's basketball team looks to return to the win column when the Seahawks travel to Hamden, CT to meet the Bobcats of Quinnipiac.
Today's game is the only meeting of the season between the schools. The Bobcats won both meetings played between the schools last season. On December 4, 2010, the Seahawks dropped an 85-72 decision. The teams met again on January 24, 2011 in Staten Island, with the Bobcats coming away with 77-62 victory. Wagner will be looking to snap a 12-game losing streak.
Today's game marks the 27th meeting between the school and Quinnipiac holds a 20-6 edge in the all-time series.
The Seahawks are paced by 6-3 senior center
Kelly Clark (Neptune, NJ/ St. Rose) who leads the team in scoring (14.1 points per game) and rebounding (7.9 rebounds per game). In Wagner's eight NEC games, Clark is averaging a robust 17.3 points per outing while shooting a sizzling 59.6 percent from the floor in conference play. Clark tonight's game with 990 career points, leaving her just 10 points shy of becoming the 22nd player in Wagner women's basketball history to reach 1,000-point mark.
