Wagner Women To Host St. Francis (NY) In NEC Opener At 4:00 PM Today

Staten Island, NY - Wagner returns to action today against local rival St. Francis (NY) in the NEC opener for both teams with tip-off slated for 400 pm.

The Series - Today's game marks the 67th meeting between the local rivals and Wagner holds a 50-16 lead in the all-time series. The Seahawks have won the last three meetings.

Trio Leading the Way Offensively - Senior center Kelly Clark leads the team in scoring at 12.8 ppg., followed by freshman point guard Jacqui Thompson and junior forward Marie-Laurence Archambault who check in at 8.3 ppg. and 7.2 ppg, respectively.
 
Marie For Three! - Marie-Laurence Archambault has connected on 13-of-34 shots (.382) from beyond the arc as she continues her ascent through th Seahawk record book. Heading into today's contest vs. St. Francis (NY), the 6-0 Archambault has made 136 career three-pointers while attempting 362 shots from three-point range. Both of those marks rank sixth on the Wagner all-time career list.

Clark Rising in Blocks - Kelly Clark has a team-high 10 blocks on the season, giving her 143 for her career, which places the 6-3 center third all-time at Wagner.

Battle of Seahawk Hall of Famers -- The game within game this afternoon wil ocur on the sidelines where both teams are coached by Wagner College Hall of Famers. The Seahawks' 18th-year lead coach Gela Mikalauskas, the school's all-time keader with 215 career wins, was inducted into the Wagner Athletics Hall of Fame in 1991. Patrolling the sideline for the Terriers is 1995 Wagner graduate Brenda Milano, ('95)  a 2010 inductee who scored 1,046 career points.
