Mallory Lee (Newark, CA / Moreau Catholic) led the Seahawks women's diving team for the fifth straight contest, as the squad took on Westchester and host Rowan at the Rowan Invitational over the weekend.
Lee, along with junior
Josephine Ieraci (Staten Island, NY / Notre Dame Academy) and sophomore
Melanie Krongold (Staten Island, NY / Susan E. Wagner) were the members of the Green & White to take to the one meter board, with Lee scoring a 206.60, finishing in fourth and missing the podium by just four points. Ieraci posted a 163.75 to finish ninth, while Krongold scored a 129.50 to take 11
th place in the day's opening event.
On the three meter board, Lee was again just edged out of the top three spots, scoring a 198.35 to take fourth place, with Ieraci finishing in seventh with a score of 157.60.
“This meet was a great experience for the girls to compete against two extremely established diving programs,” said head diving coach
Kelly Mohr. “I am so proud of how consistent they were and how they held their own this weekend. They have been working so hard and it is showing.”
Westchester's Kelsey Tennett won both the one and three meter boards, scoring a 265.30 and a 245.70, respectively.
The Seahawks have a three-week break before their next competition, when they head to the ECAC Open Swimming & Diving Championships on December 2.
