Kelly Mohr

Mohr begins her second season as the Seahawks Head Diving Coach, working alongside Shannahan, who was one of her coaches at The University of Rhode Island during her four-year tenure. Mohr headed the Wagner program from its start, helping produce the school's first ever Northeast Conference Diver of the Week in Josephine Ieraci.  Mohr recruited experienced divers, Marikate Villano (Cheshire, CT) and the school’s current diving record holder Mallory Lee (Newark, CA).

Mohr came to Wagner with an abundance of coaching experience, coaching the Sacred Heart Academy girls swimming and diving team to the conference, state and state open level. Mohr also coached the Cheshire High School boys diving team to the conference, state and state open level, coaching state open qualifiers and Cheshire Top Ten Record Holders, Jordan Attwood (Oberlin, 2015) and Michael Topitzer (College of Charlestown, 2015).  Mohr also instructed divers of all ages and abilities at the Cheshire Community pool.  This past summer Mohr spent time coaching at Shoreline Diving Camp.

A four-year letter winner with the Rhode Island Rams, Mohr was the team’s top diver at the Atlantic 10 Championships all four seasons. Voted senior captain and ‘most outstanding diver,’ Mohr graduated cum laude with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Human Development and Family Studies, making the All-Conference Honor Roll every year from 2005-2009. Mohr was also a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Before her recruitment to Rhode Island, Mohr won the CCC South diving championships, capturing the CCC South diving record and the diving record for Maloney High School, (Meriden, CT).   Mohr was a member of SOCO Diving and was previously coached by Southern Connecticut’s, Jesse Cyr.

"We are extremely excited to bring Kelly into our program for the first year of Wagner Swimming & Diving,” said former head swimming coach Mark Sowa. “She brings with her a wealth of experience as an athlete in the Atlantic 10 as well as having worked with young divers of all ages and ability levels. I think her enthusiasm, her passion for the sport, and her desire to grow our diving team will be not only an asset to Wagner but to our conference as a whole."
