FINAL RESULTS
Lincroft, NJ - Wagner placed second out of five Division I teams and first among three Northeast Conference (NEC) institutions at the 6K (3.7 mile) Monmouth XC Kick-Off at Thompson Park thanks in large part to an outstanding season-opening performance from junior
Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY / Longwood). The two-time All-NEC harrier placed third out of 88 competitors with a scorching time of 18:48.0.
The University of Albany claimed team honors while accruing 20 points, as the the Great Danes had the top two individual finishers and three the first four. Wagner was second with 95 points followed by Monmouth in third with 104 points. Seton Hall (135) took fourth followed by LIU (170).
Junior
Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA / St. Joe's Prep) was the second member of the Green & White to cross the finish line, checking in 14th with a time of 19:24.4. Freshman
Dan Zaccariello (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph By The Sea) placed third on the team and 21st overall in his first collegiate race with a mark of 19:43.4.
Placing fourth on the squad and 46th overall in his first race since the 2008 season was former NEC Rookie of the Year
Derek Rammelkamp (Sr., Miller Place, NY / Miller Place), who clocked a time of 20:37.6. Rounding out the scoring for the Seahawks was Derek's brother,
Thomas Rammelkamp (Sr., Miller Place, NY / Miller Place) in 49th at 20:47.2.
