FINAL RESULTS
Fairfield, CT - Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY / Longwood) clinched his first career win for the Green and White this weekend at the 8K Fairfield Invitational and led the Seahawks to a third place finish out of three Division I teams represented. The two-time All-NEC junior finished first out of 40 runners with a scoring time of 26:07.
Fairfield University claimed top honors on their home course with a total of 32 points as the Stags placed five of their runners in the top-10. Following in second was UConn with 53 points while the Seahawks were a close third, scoring 58 points.
For the second meet in a row,
Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA / St. Joe's Prep) was the second Seahawk to cross the finish line with a registered a time of 26:30 which secured a fourth place finish for the junior Seahawk.
Recording a third place finish for Wagner and a rank of 14th overall was freshman
Daniel Zaccariello (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph By The Sea). This marks the second consecutive third place team finish for the rookie.
Fourth and fifth place honors for the Green and White belonged to seniors and brothers
Derek Rammelkamp (Miller Place, NY / Miller Place) (18th) and
Thomas Rammelkamp (Miller Place, NY / Miller Place) (23rd) who finished the course in 27:55 and 28:44, respectively.
The Seahawks will be back in action on Saturday, September 25 at the Ted Owen Invitational in New Britain, CT.
