Gela Mikalauskas who was in her fiist stint as head coach and went on to record an 18-10 record.
The formula for victory for the 2-0 Seahawks has been a stifling defense combined with an opportunistic offense. After opening the season with a 52-48 overtime win over Army, the Seahawks opened a nine-point second half lead and held on for a 64-61 win at Siena on Saturday. Sophomore forward
Marie -Laurence Archambault (Montreal, Quebec / Montmorency) poured in 17 points off the bench to pace four Seahawks in double fi gures. Senior guard
Megan Mahoney (Staten Island NY/ St. Peter's) has scored 14 points in both of Wagner's victories to pace the Seahawks in scoring. Colgate enters the game with a 1-3 record and the Red Raiders are fresh off a 70-65 home loss to Canisius.

The Coaches - Head coach
Gela Mikalauskas is in her 17th season on the Wagner sidelines with a record of 204-251 record. On the opposing sideline will be Pamela Bass who is in her fourth season at Colgate and sports a record of 17-76. The Red Raiders were 10-19 last season.
Last Year vs. Colgate - Wagner fell 72-59 to Colgate in non-conference women's basketball action at Cottrell Court. With the win, the Red Raiders improved to 4-0 while the Seahawks fell to 0-3. Junior Sha'Ron Harrison matched her career-high with 14 points, on 6-11 shooting, while pulling down eight rebounds over 32 minutes of action to lead the Green & White. Senior
Andrea Reed (also notched 14 points, on 6-10 shooting, while grabbing five caroms.Wagner was plagued by turnovers, committing 19 miscues that led to a 24-16 Colgate advantage in points off turnovers. Both teams shot at a 43.1 percent-clip, but the Red Raiders were 10-18 (55.6 percent) from long range while the Seahawks were just 3-13 (23.1 percent) from deep.

McBride Notches Career Highs - Senior guard
Stephanie McBride (Mechanicville, NY/ Catholic Central) opened the season with a career-high nine rebounds vs. Army (1112) and followed up that effort by dishing out a career-high six assists vs. Siena (11/20).
Defense! Defense! - The Seahawks have limited their first two opponents to a combined 31 percent shooting from the field. Against Army, the Seahawks held the Lady Knights to a paltry 28.1% shooting night from the field. Wagner followed up that effort by holding Siena to 33.9 percent from the field. The Seahawks have done a particularly good job of defending the three-point arc, holding their first two opponents to a combined 8-for-31 from three-point range, a 25.8 percent clip.
Bench Scoring - Wagner held a 27-17 edge in bench scoring vs. Siena with all 27 points coming from
Marie-Laurence Archambault and
Kelly Clark who notched 17 and 10 points, respectively. For Clark, who added five rebounds, it marked her second straight solid outing off the bench as she had nine points in the opener vs. Army.
Mahoney Ms. Consistency - Guard
Megan Mahoney is off to a consistent start to ther senior season. Mahoney, who averaged a team-leading 12.7 ppg. in earning Team MVP honors last season, has tallied 14 points in each of Wagner's two games. Overall, she is shooting 48 percent (12-of-25) from the field.
Olsen With the Rebound - Senior forward
Ashley Olsen has been on strong on the boards in Wagner's first two games and leads the team in the rebounding department with an 8.0 average after grabbing nine and seven boards vs. Army and Siena, respectively.
