Men’s Cross Country Team Finishes Eleventh At IC4A Championships

Men's Cross Country Finishes 11th at IC4A Championships

Wagner's men's cross country team placed all five runners in the top half of the 172 member pack which led the Seahawks to an eleventh place finish out of the twenty teams in participation at the 2010 IC4A Championships in Van Cortlandt Park.

For the fifth time this season, junior Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY / Longwood) led the Wagner team with 18th place honors and a time of 26:20. Classmate Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA / St. Joe's Prep) followed Spector across the finish line 23 seconds later with a recorded time of 26:23 and a 20th place finish. This marks the fifth time this season that Iannacone captured the second-best team finish while also registering top honors at two consecutive races earlier in the year.

Senior Derek Rammelkamp (Miller Place, NY / Miller Place) was the third Seahawk to finish the 5K run in a time of 27:11 and a 65th place finish overall. Following close to Rammelkamp was sophomore Matt Driscoll (Lewiston, ME / Lewiston) who registered 72nd place honors in a time of 27:00. Rounding out the scores for Wagner was senior Thomas Rammelkamp (Miller Place, NY / Miller Place) who clocked in at 27:26 and captured 79th place overall.

Wagner's men's cross country team recorded a team score of 248 points and took home eleventh place team honors. Temple University took top honors at the event with a total team score of 111.
