The victory was also the first non-conference win away from the Spiro Sports Center since a 67-58 win at Manhattan on December 28, 2003, snapping a 35-game losing skid.

Leading the way for the Green & White was junior Stephanie McBride (Mechanicville, NY / Catholic Central), who scored a career-high 20 points, on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor and 9-of-10 shooting from the charity stripe, with six rebounds. Classmate Megan Mahoney (Staten Island, NY / St. Peter's) added 16 points, while hitting on 8-of-9 from the foul line, with six steals and four rebounds. Fellow junior Sha'Ron Harrison (Paterson, NJ / John F. Kennedy) rounded out the double-digit scorers with 14 points, on 6-of-10 shooting, with six rebounds.

Despite losing the battle of the boards by a 42-35 margin, the Seahawks outscored the Jaguars 13-2 in second-chance points.

The first half was highlighted by a series of runs. The Green & White scored the first five points en route to a 7-1 lead at the 17:53 mark. IUPUI quickly answered with six-straight to tie it up at 7-7. Wagner responded with six-straight points, including back-to-back buckets from Harrison. The Jaguars then carved out five-straight points before Wagner assumed control with a 9-1 spurt. McBride notched five points during the run, giving the Seahawks an insurmountable 22-13 lead with 7:24 to go in the half. IUPUI would continue to claw at the lead and cut the deficit to 26-20 at intermission.

The Seahawk defense was outstanding in the opening stanza, forcing the Jaguars into just 28.0 percent shooting (7-25), including a paltry 16.7 percent (1-6) from long range. IUPUI outrebounded Wagner 25-15, including 11-5 on the offensive end.

The Green & White also shot poorly at 32.1 percent (9-28), but were good on 85.7 percent (6-7) from the charity stripe, while forcing 16 turnovers.

IUPUI came out blazing to start the second half, scoring the first five points, but Wagner responded as Harrison scored six-straight for the Seahawks while helping push the lead back out to five at 32-27. The Jaguars would cut the lead to three on two occasions the last being at the 11:34 mark, before the Green & White responded with an 8-2 spurt, to push the lead out to 44-35 with just over nine minutes to play. IUPUI would cut the lead to four but get no closer as Wagner closed out the game with a 9-3 run to win going away 59-47.
