Syracuse, NY - Despite
Marie-Laurence Archambault's (Fr. Montreal, Quebec / Montmorency) career-high 16 points and a team-best six rebounds, the Wagner Seahawks (2-4) fell to the Syracuse Orange (7-0) by a 93-55 count on the Jim Boeheim Court in the Carrier Dome.

Kelly Clark (Neptune, NJ / St. Rose) also had a solid game going for 13 points, on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting, with five rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench.
Playing in front of their home crowd, the Orange flexed its muscles in the early going while jumping out to an early 10-2 lead at the 17:31 mark of the first period. Over the next three minutes the Seahawks clawed their way back into the game, making six-of-eight from the floor, including three triples from junior
Stephanie McBride (Mechanicville, NY / Catholic Central) and two from Archambault to fuel a 19-12 spurt tin cutting the Syracuse lead to one at 22-21 with 12:55 to go in the first half.
For the rest of the half it was all Orange as Syracuse closed out the half with a 31-7 spurt, including a 15-0 run, to head into intermission up 53-28.
The Seahawks' backcourt was exemplary in the opening stanza, combining for 22 of Wagner's 28 points. Archambault connected for 11 points while McBride had nine points as the duo was a combined 6-of-11 from long-range. The Orange, meanwhile, powered its way to a dominating lead thanks to shooting 57.9 percent (22-38) from the floor while using a 25-11 advantage on the glass and a 26-4 edge in points in the paint.
Syracuse extended its lead out to a game-high 44 points in the second half en route to a 93-55 victory. For the game, the Orange shot 47.8 percent (33-69), compared to just 35.0 percent (21-60) for the Seahawks. Syracuse also controlled the glass by a 55-29 count, leading to a 42-20 advantage in points in the paint.
Kayla Alexander scored a game-high 23 points for the Orange while Nichole Michael (14 points) and Erica Morrow (12 points) each notched double-figures.
Notes: Wagner is now just 3-30 all-time against the Big East, having lost 18 in a row since the Seahawks last win over Seton Hall on January 20, 1986 … This was the Green & White's first game against Syracuse ... Sophomore
