Staten Island, NY - Wagner outscored Siena 41-27 in the decisive second half en route to a 63-55 come-from-behind victory in the Seahawks' home opener at the Spiro Sports Center. Junior Sha'Ron Harrison (Paterson, NJ / John F. Kennedy) tallied a career-high 15 points and game-high 12 rebounds in carrying Wagner to its first win of the year against three losses while the Saints drop to 0-3.
Trailing 50-48 with 7:03 remaining in the game the Seahawks closed out the game with a 15-5 run while sinking 9-of-11 from the charity stripe and limited Siena to just 2-of-11 shooting during that time.

Kelly Clark (Neptune, NJ / St. Rose) evened the score at 50-50 with a fast-break lay-up. Junior
Ashley Olsen (Staten Island, NY / Notre Dame Academy) put the Green & White up for good with a fast-break lay-up of her own after stealing the inbounds pass with 5:07 remaining. After a Siena turnover, freshman
Marie-Laurence Archambault (Montreal, Quebec / Montmorency) sank a pair from the line. Allie Lindemann briefly stopped the Wagner offense by splitting a pair from the line. After exchanging possessions, Harrison made it 56-51with just 2:50 to go following a second-chance lay-up. Serene Moore cut it to three with an impressive athletic lay-up with 2:27 to go.
Over the next minute and a half neither team could buy a bucket before Olsen hit a pair from the line, extending the lead to 58-53 with just 39 seconds remaining. The Saints would get no closer as Harrison, a 37.5 percent shooter from the line entering the game, knocked down three-of-four and Archambault drained two more giving the Green & White a hard-fought 63-55 win.
Wagner outrebounded Siena by a narrow 39-37 count, but used a decisive 15-8 advantage on the offensive glass to contribute to a 12-3 edge in second-chance points. The Seahawks also parlayed 22 Saint turnovers into a whopping 25-10 advantage in points off of turnovers.
Olsen notched her third double-double in four games, recording 12 points and 11 rebounds over 38 minutes of action. Archambault also hit for double-figures with 10 second-half points. Playing in her first action of the year, Junior
Stephanie McBride (Mechanicville, NY / Catholic Central) showed no signs of rust handing out a team-best three assists, against just one turnover, with two steals over 28 minutes.
Siena took a 28-22 lead into halftime after shooting 45.0 percent in the first half, including 50.0 percent (4-8) from long-range, while limiting Wagner to just 29.0 percent shooting, including and abysmal 7.7 percent (1-13) from beyond the arc. The Seahawks stayed in the game, thanks to drawing six charges in the game's opening 10 minutes and allowing just one Siena offensive rebound.
The Saints were led by Lindemann, who scored 14 points while Moore also went for 11 points.
Wagner looks to make it two in a row when the Seahawks host American on Saturday, November 28 at 3:00 pm right back at the Spiro Sports Center.
