Junior John'a Poole's 10-foot jumper off glass with 1.2 seconds remaining was the difference in Wagner's 58-56 overtime win vs. Colgate (12/1). Classmate Andrea Reed's jumper in the paint with just 2.9 seconds remaining sealed the 59-58 win for Wagner against Army (11/14).

Streak Snapped -
Wagner's 58-56 overtime win against Colgate on December 1, 2008 snapped a 28-game losing streak in the month of December. The last time the Green & White had won in the month was 67-58 at Manhattan on Dec. 28, 2003.

To New Beginnings - Wagner's win over Colgate (12/1) also gave the Seahawks a perfect 3-0 record at home for the first time since 1996-1997. It also marked the first time in the history of the Spiro Sports Center (opened Feb. 1999) that the Green & White had won its first three home contests.

Nyoto Uprising - After playing just one minute in the first five games sophomore Nyoto Patterson turned in her best performance as a Seahawk against Colgate (12/1). The 6-0 forward notched career-highs in points (10) and rebounds (6) while giving the Green & White a spark off the bench in a 58-56 overtime win. She also went 6-10 from the charity stripe after hitting on just 35.3 percent from the free throw line as a freshman.

DNP Translates To Big Games -
Patterson's performance comes after not playing in the previous four games. That is the third time this season a Wagner player has scored in double-digits after not playing in the previous game.

Junior John'a Poole scored 14 points off the bench at Columbia (11/25) after not playing in the previous three games. Classmate Naomi Augustin scored a career-high 13 points in just 19 minutes in the Seahawks' win over NJIT (11/18) ... after not playing against Army.

She's Going The Distance - Sophomore Ashley Olsen leads the Seahawks in a catagory not shown on the weekly rankings ... 40-minute games. She played all 40 minutes in the Seahawks' win over NJIT (11/18) and was at it for 41 minutes in the Green & White's overtime win against Colgate (12/1).

Corcoran, Pennewell To Square Off - Former high school teammates freshman Lindsay Corcoran and Mandy Pennewell will be meeting for the first time as collegiate opponents. The pair helped Villa Maria Academy (PA) to PIAA Eastern Finals in 2004-2005.

Reed Steps Up - Junior Andrea Reed has elevated her game to an even higher level in this her third year at Wagner. She leads the squad and ranks among the NEC's best in points, rebounds, assists and steals. Reed is averaging 14.3 ppg (7th NEC), 6.0 rpg (t-14th NEC), 5.2 apg (1st NEC) and 2.3 spg (7th NEC). On the year, she is averaging a team-best 10.0 points in the second half while shooting a blistering 54.3 percent (19-35).

Wagner Signs Two For 2009-2010 - Gela Mikalauskas has announced the signing of Marie–Laurence Archambault (Montreal, Quebec / Montmorency College) and Veronick Fournier (Gatineau, Quebec / Montmorency College) to National Letters of Intent. Both will be freshmen and have four years of eligibility beginning in the 2009-2010 season.

Archambault is a 6-0 small forward that likes to play on the perimeter but can also drive to the basket. She will pose match-up problems for the opposition as she can step out and shoot from the outside while also possessing the ability to play in the paint.

Fournier, a 5-8 shooting guard, is a tough hard-nosed player that does a little bit of everything on offense and defense.
