Senior guard Marcus Burton (Charlotte, NC/ David W. Butler) of the men's basketball team has been named the Walsh Electric Student Athletes of the Month for January. Burton averaged nearly 23 points per game in leading the Seahawks to a 6-4 record during January, catapulting the 6-0 guard to the top of the NEC scoring list. Burton's scoring explosion in the month was highlighted by his 38-point outburst vs. Mount St, Mary's in an 85-83 double overtime victory, as well as tallying his 1,000^th career point in a victory over Central Connecticut (Jan. 31). Burton's month was also highlighted by being named both NEC and Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Player of the Week on one occasion.
