Sophomore guard Jasmine Nwajei (Rockaway Park, NY / Murry Bergtraum) of the women's basketball team has been named the Walsh Electric Female Student-Athlete of the Month for December.. The 5-8 New York City guard has led the women's basketball team to consecutive victories against Stony Brook and Columbia to end non-conference play. Nwajei proved to be an explosive scorer throughout the month, averaging 28.8 points per game in six contests, surpassing the 30-point plateau three times, highlighted by a 40 point outburst in a 97-86 victory over Columbia. The reigning Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year also contributed 4.2 assists per game while pulling down 7.5 rebounds per game during a month where the NEC recognized Nwajei with back-to-back Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Month honors.
